Jennifer Shivel
Mrs. Jennifer Shivel understands the art of educating, equipping and nurturing children so they can grow in the image of God. She has a heart for both teaching and leading which makes her perfectly suited for her position as administrator at Berean Christian Academy. After serving ten years in the Army as a Combat Medic, discharging as a Staff Sergeant, Mrs. Shivel went back to school to be a teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biblical and Educational Studies from Liberty University and began her teaching career with 1st Grade and later began teaching grades 7th through 12th. She continued her studies by completing a Master’s degree in Christian Apologetics, and a Master's in Divinity in Christian Apologetics. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Biblical Exposition.
Mrs. Shivel has been married to her husband for fifteen years and they have three children ages 14, 12, and 10. After years of desiring to work in the mission field, she discovered that second to serving her family, her greatest calling is in the classroom. She is often quoted telling people that her classroom is the mission field. She has a deep desire to equip the next generation of believers to go out into the world and serve God’s kingdom in whatever capacity God has called them. Most importantly, her desire is that every graduate can give a defense for the hope that is within them in our progressively anti-Christian society (1 Peter 3: 15).
